We elected to take the gondola ride up to the top of the Great Wall at Badaling. It is as great as people say it is. The weather was perfect and there is just enough of a hike to the top tower that I (Phil) felt a sense of accomplishment making it there with a 23 lb. toddler on my back. You won't find any strollers (or many young kids) here, since the wall is almost all steps and steep ramps.

Afterwards, we had lunch and then hit the Wax Museum, where each room depicted a scene that took place during the Ming dynasty. We decided to have some fun and take some pictures with traditional costumes. Mom told me not to smile, since apparently ancient Chinese emperors just don't do that when posing for photographs.

The last couple of pictures are from the Ming tomb, which is really just a very nice stroll past some majestic statues and ending at a big open Presidio-like structure (for those of you from SF, you know what I mean).

Nice picture of you, your mom & Joshua at the Great Wall! I assume then that the photographer was Hue? Love that ancient Chinese royal family picture and Phil being attacked by an elephant!
